A mom’s hug lasts long after she lets go.

About this site

my mom.

my mom.

Wash your hands. Wear a hat. Be careful. Be kind.

Mothers instruct, guide, and love, all while making your oatmeal just the way you like it.

It's easy to remember the values they instill; those stay with you for decades. But what about the practical tips they've given you - will you remember them? (Do you remember them now?).

Maybe your mom taught you how to train a dog, make mushroom barley soup, and buy good towels. Maybe she taught you how to rock climb, make a proper martini, and arrange flowers. Maybe she taught you it all.

These things may seem small but they are the threads of our relationship fabric.

So let's celebrate them and our mothers. Let's share and learn from one another.

Send me photos of your mom and a few words about tips she gave you and things she taught you (please include your mother's first name, where she lives/lived, and your first name)*: motherstaughtus@gmail.com.

Oh, and because my mother taught me well: thank you.

- Marsha

This site is dedicated in loving memory of my mother.
