"Always buy good shoes."

My mother felt strongly about investing in fine shoes. An inexpensive t-shirt? Why not. Save your money for the well-made footwear. Even when I was still in braces with an awkward haircut, I knew to look for "Made in Italy" or "Made in France" at the bottom of a shoe. They're our feet, after all. They take us places. We should take care of them.
